Below is a description of the updates you can expect to the content and functionality of the GCSE and A-Level courses and when to expect them. You can also see details of the provisional pricing for each version of the course.

From May 2021
Content, features & fees
The most in-depth, detailed and comprehensive teaching videos you’ll find anywhere online, complete with navigation bookmarks and speed controls. These videos will cover every aspect of the scientific content required to achieve grade 9 at GCSE or A* at A-level, suitable for all exam boards and specifications.
Detailed notes are provided for each lesson in the form of a slide deck, containing full descriptions, explanations, diagrams, etc. for use as in-depth revision notes.
A checklist of learning outcomes outlining all skills and knowledge to be mastered in each lesson, providing a clear structure for students to grasp exactly what they are learning and what they need to be able to describe, explain, calculate, etc.
Students will have the ability to take notes on each lesson and store them privately on each lesson page.
Students will have access to a live chat function through which they can interact with other students on each lesson page, to collaborate on work and discuss the ideas covered in each lesson.
In addition to the above, students who enrol for courses with private coaching will also have access to:
Your own private coaching area where you can send private messages and questions to your teacher at any time about any lesson, and receive a response within 24 hours (usually in a matter of hours).
Personalised homework tasks provided regularly via your private coaching area, together with marking and feedback with suggestions on how to improve.
Weekly 1 hour live online teaching/tuition sessions during UK school term time (on Sundays), in which students can interact with their teacher and each other in real time through online video/audio conferencing, discussing topics or reviewing solutions to problems (e.g. exam questions, exam technique, revision, concepts, skills, etc.). Students will also have access to the recordings of these sessions which they can then use for their independent study and revision.

Interactive questions will be embedded into each lesson’s teaching video to test understanding and aid revision. The teaching video for each lesson will pause at specific times, and questions will pop up to check your understanding of the ideas taught up to that point; students will need to answer each question correctly before progressing to the next section of the video. Full explanations will be provided, and a summary will appear at the end of each video showing students’ scores for each question.
This feature will transform the teaching videos in all these courses, which are already the most in-depth you’ll find anywhere, into interactive experiences which both teach and test understanding!
In addition to the above, students who enrol for courses with private coaching will also have access to:
Each topic within each course will contain an assignment which must be completed before the topic is complete. These assignments will be comprised of numerous exam questions produced by real examiners; each GCSE/A-level course will contain many such assignments, providing many hundreds of exam questions covering all topics within the course.
These assignments will be marked, and personalised feedback will be provided to each student, together with the full mark scheme for each set of exam questions.
These assignments, and the sets of exam questions contained within them, are absolutely invaluable revision tools for any serious student, testing students’ understanding and recall as well as developing critically important exam technique.
The total value of all the exam questions and mark schemes provided within a course would be in excess of several hundred pounds if acquired by buying past exam papers, and this does not include the detailed marking and feedback provided!
Students can explore the detailed explanations for specific exam questions in these assignments during their weekly 1 hour live online lessons.

Addition of advanced interactive quizzes to the end of each topic.
These quizzes will be powered by an AI engine which will present questions to students differently each time they attempt the quiz depending on their performance on previous attempts and how they have performed on other interactive content within the topic.
Each quiz attempt will also provide students with detailed feedback, providing full explanations for each question the student answered.
These quizzes provide a one-of-a-kind personalised form of assessment, tailoring themselves to the unique needs of each student and providing challenge for each student based on their individual learning needs.
Student performance in these advanced AI quizzes and end-of-topic exams will also be trackable by students, along with all other learning activities.
In addition to the above, students who enrol for courses with private coaching will also have access to:
A series of live online revision and exam-prep sessions in the weeks leading up to final GCSE and A-level examinations. Each course will have a series of these live events, in which we will be reviewing exam questions which challenge students’ understanding of each topic in their course, with a specific focus on summarising the key concepts in each topic and improving exam technique.
We will cover the key styles of questions examiners ask in real exam papers, the optimal strategies for answering them, the most common errors made by students and how to avoid them.
These sessions will provide a structured and intensive revision programme to consolidate students’ learning at the end of their course and translate their efforts into the maximum attainment in their summative exams! Students will receive access to the recordings of each session after the live event is concluded, which they can then use as a revision resource.

In addition to the end-of-topic AI quizzes (added during the last update in May 2023), all individual lessons will now also have an end-of-lesson quiz to aid revision. These quizzes will also be powered by the AI quiz engine, adapting themselves to present questions differently each time students attempt them to target the areas students need to improve upon.
Additionally, new lessons will be added which will cover the Required Practical Activities for all exam boards; these lessons will include a POV-style walkthrough of the teacher performing the practical investigation, with details of the methods and analysis of results from these experiments.
Gamification: Students will now be awarded points for all their learning activities, earn ranks, achievements and badges for their performance, further incentivising students to progress and allowing them to track their progress and attainment.
In addition to the above, students who enrol for courses with private coaching will also have access to:
End-of-Course examinations, powered by the AI quiz engine, will now be added to the end of each GCSE/A-level course, testing students’ understanding and recall of all the concepts and skills they’ve learned throughout their course.
Students’ performance in these end-of-course assessments, together with their performance in all assessed activities throughout their course, will be used to award a final grade for their course, and each student will then receive a personalised certificate and transcript, with final teacher feedback and suggestions for next steps.
Money-back final grade guarantee: Any student who works through a 2-year course with private coaching, completing all tasks to the required standard to pass the course, will receive a money-back guarantee of attaining at least a grade 7 (if they are a GCSE student) or grade A (if they are an A-level student) for their final grade from their respective awarding body.
